Tennessee District

Pilot International is a non-profit organization. Our main focus is helping people with Brain Related Disorders. We go to the schools and teach Kindergarten, 1ST and 2ND Grade students how to "Protect Their Brains for Life." We use puppets and dress up as different characters. Some of the clubs give bicycle helmets to some lucky individuals. This has been a big success and we are asked to come back year after year.

Tennessee is known as the "Volunteer" state. We have 16 clubs in our district and have approx. 400 members across the state of TN. Our Pilot members spend countless hours volunteering in their communities to make them have a better place to live. They volunteer in the hospitals, Red Cross, Alzheimer Walk and the Relay for Life just to name a few.

The TN District holds two annual meetings. One club will host "Fall Council" and this is a fun weekend. We hold our District Convention in April every year. We conduct our business at this time and installation of officers. We look forward to these events, because of the Friendship and Service. We also have an International Convention in July every year. This is held in different parts of the United States..

Pilot International has been actively involved with St. Jude's Hospital, which is located in Memphis, TN. We have raised money for this hospital for several years. Pilot International has a wing in the hospital in our honor.

The TN District's Project, the "Special Education Teacher of the Year" has also been a great success. Local Pilot Clubs solicit nominations from the local school systems in their area. Each club will choose one local winner and honor them at one of their club meeting. They will forward the winner from their club to be submitted for the TN District. A non-Pilot panel of judges chooses the District winner. The winner is honored at District Convention in April. These special people give of their time teaching those with special needs.
